"Band of Brothers and Sisters"
We are no knights in shining armor
Not His Holiness in Rome
Not a noble with a pedigree
With a mansion for a home.
We've no clout up North in Washington
No influence in our hands
On the street we are invisible
When we enter no one stands.
There's no reason to look up at us
Even notice us at all
Though our backs would still stand straight and tall
If we heard our Nation's Call.
We've just two hands among the millions
There's no gold or precious stones
But we've stood where others feared to tread
Many miles away from home.
Still we keep our honor close to us
Even though some turned away
Never showed the pain that ate our souls
As we faced each passing day.
So we stayed while others left the ranks
While the world in turmoil sank
And the leaders in our government
Spent our money in the bank.
Still a Band of Brothers, Sisters strong
Though you do not know our names
Yes, we love our Country, Right or Wrong
And we'd serve her once again.
