“Tradition and Belief "

“On why I think talk shows on TV are really so popular
 and cause so much media interest .

We all pass on what we were told, 
not what we understand
As our children ask their questions 
about this world so grand.
But the answers that we give them
 are the ones we got before
To the world that we have witnessed, 
we have closed our vision’s door.

With ritual, rite, and custom; 
all things we’ve done before
That we don’t understand them, 
we don’t care any more.
Its enough that we just have them; 
we can claim them as our own;
Then become a patterned witness, 
they became our sacred tome.

The living God who made us 
or lucky chance of life;
Gave us all the time to prosper 
not roll in constant strife.
We are supposed to cherish, 
nurture, treasure Nature's dance;
To study life in harmony 
and use well Life’s one time chance.

Creation’s life, Nature born, 
it’s time that we still don’t know;
An accident or loving hand, 
that makes the future grow.
For now man’s voice in God’s own place, 
then science tells the rest;
The wisdom now that man holds dear 
must daily pass man’s test.

The questions, the passing score 
that must be scored to win;
Are different in each version 
or inning we are in.
Each of us have the right to live 
the way we want to do;
If I live my life my own way 
and do not bother you.

Not your rituals and your dogma, 
doctrine, and childhood lies;
That sometimes still get factored in 
as we build our tribal lives.
The root of every doctrine grows 
through the mind of man;
Who failed in God’s own garden 
before time’s dawn began.

For the memories and half-truths 
may still bear sweet fruit today;
From the tree that every man took 
before they were cast away.
The loving God who made us, 
or evolution’s chance;
In time will play the rhythm 
that all will have to dance.

Then rituals , rites, and doctrines 
had better be the key;
Or everyone who does it wrong 
may simply cease to be.
“Judge not, lest you be judged too”, 
the Golden Rule is just.
The labels we freely use 
may stick right back on us.

Opinions, they may differ some, 
our goals are not the same
Just don’t forget your labor’s goal 
and the labor’s sponsor’s name.
