“Truth By Any Other Name”
The truth is hard to swallow when you’re standing on your head
And life is really hard to live from deep beneath your bed.
And all the stuff the news pours forth to make our evenings full
Has much of what the barnyard has which smells like so much bull.
So we’ve come from a boring world when our daily labor’s through
But life must be exciting when there’s nothing left to do
We all can watch the world roll by as channels pass our eyes
Count the death toll, rising costs, and government’s latest tries.
Verse:
Listen to the casters cast their chaff
	In the wind that blows.
And sit in groups to grope out hope
From the thoughts they think they know.
The speech is hardly finished or an idea brought to mind
When the pundits preach their right to poke and rend and rip and grind.
Their thoughts are bigger than the truth, their words wiser than the wise,
And time is foolishly wasted as they try a thousand tries.
Its time to think our thoughts alone, together use our minds
And talk our thoughts at last aloud our own solutions find.
Verse:
Or listen to the casters cast their thoughts
	On the wind that blows.
And the truth of what they’re blowing
 	Only their wisdom knows
