"What the Moon Sees"

The Man in the Moon always sees us
As he looks down on us both, the same.
When we stand in the evening hush
And perhaps whisper each other's name.

I have thought of you looking skyward
Standing somewhere on this earth, alone.
If I had not been such a coward...
Though that is part of the great unknown.

So is Space, where the Moon hangs, watching
No one knew what we'd find standing there.
Our lives are not lived just by thinking
Or just throwing our hands in the air.

I tell the Moon how much, I Love You
And I hope he'll whisper in your ear.
I suspect you have said as much, too
For I've heard those sweet words standing here.

The Moon is our constant companion
He's watched over us all these years
Traveled with us on this road we're on
Through the trials, the joys, and the tears.

He's still watching over, above us
As we watch from two points, you and I.
He reminds us that Faith is a Trust
We must keep 'til the day that we die.

We see, we can feel, we remember
That our lives are still are tied by design.
These moments we share, sweet and tender
The Moon sees in our eyes, yours and mine.
