"Heart Fire"

Heart Fire burns to the depth of my soul
Joy effervescent, it makes my life whole
No one here knows why it works quite this way
And I'm having trouble with what words to say.
For Heart Fire consumes but it does not destroy
Sometimes there are pains but there's mostly joy
When true love discovers it can't be contained
When joy effervescent comes forth unrestrained.

So pray for true lovers whose Heart Fire burns
Pray they have wisdom and from life have learned
To cling to each other and grow hand in hand
To conquer the rough roads, not sink in the sand.
For even their Heart Fire needs fuel to grow
And long conversations so their hearts will know
That they are together as "one" not as "two"
To walk hand in hand 'til their lives are through.
