"Sun and Moon"

Oh Sun whose light reveals the truth
Whose energy new life gives birth
Why do you now in battle fight
The poet's pen and Love of Night?

Is love revealed in shades of Dusk
Or does it hide in Passion's Lust
Afraid to face the light of Day
In fear that it will fade away?

Perhaps my thoughts have been all wrong
Left out some words from Love's sweet song
For now my eyes are opened wide
Your voice the answer did provide.

Oh Sun whose warmth the fog dispels
And every living creature tells
"You now have light to find your way
I'll guide you with my shining rays."

With all the beauty we can see
While in my heart you sit with me
All Nature's wonders we behold
Wrapped in bright hues of blue and gold.

Can we not dream in Day's bright smile
Or touch our hearts once in a while
Must we now wait for dark of night
So we can touch just out of sight?

Love's passion grows in Daylight's sun
Perhaps the battle has been won
Now Day and Night in equal shares
Will hold us close with loving care.

So Sun and Moon, like you and I
Chase Time across the new Day's Sky
Yet we can meet at Dusk and Dawn
To gently touch both night and morn.
