"On Wings" If we could fly with wings like Night In quiet times well passed the light When prying eyes and witless talk In aimless circles cease to walk. Then Zephyr Winds our heated hearts In soft caress their fire start So we might rise into the air To quench the fire while flying there. Does Hope's Illusion buy us time Until that day when you are mine When Day and Night no more contend Shadows in light may merge and blend? Or do the Fate's in spinning zeal Twist Fortune's thread on time worn wheel Do Fantasy and Faith contend Our will to break, our dreams to bend? Yet even in those darkest doubts The Truth, Our Love, in strong voice shouts: "Beware those lies that whisper low They'll haunt your footsteps as you go. Fear not the passing of this day The warp and weft, Fate's dreaded way Just hold Hope close do not let go In Faith Believing you both know, Time leads you To, not far away Unlike the breeze that cools the day Your hope will lift and carry up Refreshing nectar from Love's cup. Fear not the night where now you wait Fear not you found the truth too late Believe that you are just in time When in the light the bright sun shines."
