"Your Gift for Now" Upon the handmade handkerchief A single kiss I see Within its snow white threads kept safe A single tear for me. There too a single lock of hair Wrapped in a ribbon blue These precious gifts that I hold here Each one has come from you. Your soft, sweet fragrance lingers here Caught in your golden threads Its memory still lingers soft And sings within my head. I could not wish a greater gift That you are free to share Because each item comes from you They prove that you are there. So here today you are with me My lips your kiss has touched I've touched again your golden hair I love you very much. Now I can hold you to my heart And stroke your golden hair My tear can sleep in threads so soft Because I know you care. My own, beloved, love of mine Your gift has touched my heart The tick of time can't take them back Or pull us now apart.
