"Work Interrupted"

Has
your work been interrupted
By a feeling strange or new
When
your concentration wavered
Before your work day was though?
Have you just heard a whisper
Though
you knew no one was there?
Was it just the breeze that's blowing
That
gently caressed your hair?
But
the words though faint and gentle
Were not random breaths of air
They had meaning, they had import
Even
though no one was there?

Is
the world we see around us
All there is in Nature's Plan?
Are there mysteries and marvels
That
avoid the sight of man?
Can a lover touch a lover
Though they aren't together now?
Are there things they can discover
That others still don't know?
I
for one want to believe it
That
my words sing in your ear
And bring smiles to light up your face
So
there's no more doubt or fear.

Though
your work was interrupted
A new glow might fill your heart
So the subtle irritation
Might make it hard to restart.
Or it just might make it better
If
you feel the same as me
That we're really bound together
And I know we'll always be.
